About Rotate PDF
Rotate PDF permanently changes the orientation of pages so they display correctly in every viewer. Rotate the whole document or only specific pages — for example, a few landscape pages in a portrait scan.
How to use Rotate PDF
- Choose a PDF file.
- Choose the rotation: 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise.
- Apply it to all pages or select individual pages.
- Check the page preview, then select Rotate and download the PDF.
Examples
Fix a sideways scan
Rotate all pages 90° clockwise when a scanner fed the document sideways.
Mixed orientation
Rotate only pages 4 and 9 so their landscape tables read correctly.
Limitations
- Rotation is applied as page metadata, which every standards-compliant viewer respects; page content is not re-rendered.
- Files over 40 MB skip the page preview. The rotation is still saved.
- Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first.
Privacy
This tool processes everything locally in your browser tab. Your input is not uploaded to Utilhex or any third party, and it is discarded when you close or reload the page. Read the privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and processed by JavaScript running in your browser tab. Utilhex never receives the document, and closing the tab discards it.
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes. The rotation is saved into the new PDF, so it opens with the corrected orientation everywhere.
Does rotation affect quality?
No. Only the page's rotation attribute changes; text and images are untouched.
