About CSV Viewer & Cleaner
CSV Viewer & Cleaner opens a table in your browser so you can see the rows, trim spaces, drop empty rows or columns, remove duplicates, sort, and filter — then download a cleaned CSV. The file is never uploaded.
How to use CSV Viewer & Cleaner
- Paste a CSV or open a file.
- Confirm whether the first row contains headers.
- Use trim, drop empty, remove duplicates, sort, or filter as needed.
- Download the cleaned CSV. The download is the working table, not just the filtered view, unless you chose Keep matching rows.
Examples
Contact export
Remove duplicate emails after combining two CRM exports, then sort by name.
Messy spreadsheet
Trim cell spaces and drop blank rows before importing the file elsewhere.
Limitations
- Values are compared as trimmed text, so 1.0 and 1 are different unless you treat them as numbers when sorting.
- This is not a spreadsheet editor. Cells are not edited one by one.
- Native Excel (.xlsx) files are not opened; export CSV first.
Privacy
This tool processes everything locally in your browser tab. Your input is not uploaded to Utilhex or any third party, and it is discarded when you close or reload the page. Read the privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked questions
Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. Parsing, cleaning, and download all happen in your browser.
Does Remove duplicates keep the first row?
Yes. The first occurrence of each key is kept; later exact matches (or matches on the column you chose) are dropped.
Does the filter change the download?
The search box only hides rows on screen. Choose Keep matching rows if you want the download to contain only those rows.
