About Favicon Generator
Favicon Generator crops a square from your image and exports the sizes browsers and home screens commonly ask for: an ICO with 16, 32, and 48 pixel PNGs, plus 180, 192, and 512 pixel PNGs and an HTML snippet. Transparency is kept in the PNGs when you leave the background transparent. The ICO uses PNG entries, which current desktop browsers accept.
How to use Favicon Generator
- Choose a PNG, JPG, WebP, or SVG.
- Drag the square crop, then set padding and an optional background color.
- Select Create favicons and check the previews at several sizes.
- Download the ZIP and copy the HTML snippet into your page.
Examples
A logo with padding
Add padding so a wordmark does not touch the edge of the 16 pixel icon.
An opaque Apple icon
Turn transparency off and pick a background. Apple touch icons should not rely on a transparent background.
Limitations
- The ICO contains PNG images. Very old browsers that only read BMP icons are not covered.
- These sizes match common browser and home-screen conventions. They are not a guarantee for every platform.
- SVG is never inserted as markup. If the browser cannot draw it, the file is rejected.
- JPG has no transparency. A transparent background still flattens a JPG source onto the canvas.

Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Images are decoded and re-encoded by your browser on your device. Utilhex never receives them.
Which files are in the ZIP?
favicon.ico, PNG icons from 16 to 512 pixels, apple-touch-icon.png, and a text file with link tags.
Does this replace every icon a site might need?
No. It covers the usual browser tab, Apple touch, and Android home-screen sizes. A site may still want a maskable icon or a social preview, which this pack does not invent.
